Living Raw Foods are those that have all of their enzymes in their original condition that are ingested shortly after harvesting. Living raw foods are digested far easier than cooked foods and therefore put far less strain on your body. Heating  food over 116º F destroys enzymes in food. Some enzymes start to degrade at 106º F.  All cooked food is devoid of enzymes, and in some cases toxins will form due to the molecular structure of the food being altered by the heat. Living raw food has far higher nutritional value over foods that have been cooked.

It is important to know that even if you are eating a 100% raw food diet it is still possible to become nutrient deficient and unhealthy. This could happen for several reasons:

    • Eating too few leafy green veggies
    • Eating foods that contain few minerals
    • Eating non-organic raw food
    • Consuming too few enzyme supplements

Any meats and other animal products are not part of a living foods diet. Animal products as a food are difficult to digest and thus put a heavy strain on the body, eventually affecting the ability to produce enzymes, insulin, and a balance of hormones.
